Blackjack, Hero of the Downtrodden Full Title: Granted it's no dirtier than the rolled hull boats, but the white finish makes any mark seem like you are a poor housekeeper. The inner hull adds storage space but at a cost of dollars and wieght. I like the PF TE a lot, the original on I have found all of the above boats to be in the same price range similarly equipped. I have been 18 miles into the gulf fishing snapper on mine. I have never been on a Pathfinder so I can't compare.
Pescador Hey 2coolers, I am more than impressed with the knowledge and wisdom I have seen on this site. I have always 20 yrs had a small boat and only fished the bays on "good" days. I am ready to step up and get a bigger better boat. I know this has been asked a million times and there are as many answers but before I spend that much money, I feel I must ask other people my fellow 2coolers because my friends don't know much about bigger bay boats.
Everyone says if you can afford it get the biggest boat, so I believe I want a 24 foot boat. Assuming all motors, accessories, electronics, etc are all the same, what would be your choice of boats? I am a middle-age guy and not looking to do anything foolish and definately will not push anything risky offshore. I have found all of the above boats to be in the same price range similarly equipped.
All help is appreciated. Thank you in advance. Wading Mark Haynie, Pathfinder, Pescador in that order. Kyle I'm pretty sure you can't get the 24" pathfinder with a tunnel. It's also going to ride smoother than that pescador or the big foot haynie due to the lack of a tunnel.
I've been in all three of those and the pathfinder is the best ride. It's also the most expensive The only thing about that big haynie is the tunnel, and the finish of the pathfinder is better. That's not going to help you catch more fish, but if you drop 35K on a boat, maybe you'll sleep better. I'm not real big on tunnels That pathfinder will probably also be the most effecient hull out of the three due to the lack of a tunnel.

Does anyone have any opinions or experience with one or the other. They are close in price but I want to know how you feel about which one rides better, which is more stable, which is the higher quality vessel. Does either boat wet you during rougher seas, just any experience you may have with one or the other that can help me as the right questions and ultimately help me make the right purchase.
Better boat overall, and 2 ft bigger to boot. I am surprised they are "close" in price? Bayou Thunder I have been 18 miles into the gulf fishing snapper on mine. Unless I do something wrong, the boat is very dry. I have never been on a Pathfinder so I can't compare. I'm sure if you talk to pathfinder owners ,they will say the same thing.
They are both well made boats. I will say the Pathfinder was an exc boat. Handled very well, fast, economical, did its job, reliable, versatile, and held it value very well. I will say it was in demand -- lots of people asked about it and it was easy to sell.
I used it a lot and rode it hard. Great boat for Tampa area. Both look pretty good. I am leaning toward pathfinder but there is a dealer in my hometown that carries blackjack and the they are eye catching. I just want a boat for the next 10 plus years that I will be happy with. They are right there with the price of the two you mentioned and you can put both those boats inside the 24 yellowfin bsh What does a 24 Yellowfin run?
How is a yellowfin right there in price? Dont get me wrong, I would love to own a Yellowfin but not at there prices. Originally Posted by bsh Post Biloxi, you have got to be out of your mind. I for one, don't want a "bay" boat that is really intended for light tackle sight casting in the keys.
